 
	
William Bendix as Chester A. Riley William Bendix owned the role of lovable, earnest, blue-collar schlub Chester Riley and the classic sitcome "The Life of Riley" was his most famous and well-loved part -- first on radio, then subsequently in a movie and a 1950s television show. But Bendix could play other roles - from a sadistic gangster in 1942's "The Glass Key" to a soldier in Alfred Hitchcock's "Lifeboat" to the title role in "The Babe Ruth Story".
